Visited Lourdes with my family last weekend and stumbled across this hidden gem of a restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The food and the tea came out slowly as everything is made to order and fresh but it was worth the wait and exceeded our expectations - fresh ingredients, creative combinations and tasted fantastic. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed with comfortable seating and perfect lighting. Will definitely be returning when we visit as a family every year. I highly recommend this place for any foodie!- Type de repas

The owner/chef/host was extremely sweet and friendly lady. It was my birthday so she even made a Nutella Crepe with ice cream. She even lit a candle on the crepe, made my son bring it to me while singing happy birthday, how amazing was that.
I would go back to Lourdes just to eat at New Ceylon Tea.- Cuisine

Overall amazing restaurant, great ambience, and superb host/chef. We went past closing hours, but the owner opened the restaurant just for us. The food was made by the owner herself and her friendly and welcoming nature, along with the delicious food instantly transported us back to Sri Lanka. Highly recommend a visit if you are in Lourdes!

Tldr; Fantastic home cooking. Every dish is a must-try 😋 for the subtle tastes - Dewel🤤, Chicken noodles, Kottu, biryani rice with chicken 🤤, coconut sap pancakes. 😐 Really, come here! What'ya still reading this for? Oh, right. Read the rest of this review if you're not there yet. Then Go! Won't regret it. Trust me.🤞🏻👍🏻
Had a delicious dinner here, of Dewel with white rice. Especially like the spicy beef Dewel, and totally love the accompanying white rice, which has a particular fragrance to it (really, try it!). I'd rate the Dewel-rice combi 2 tongues 😋😋. 😂. Also Chicken noodles with vegetables which was tasty, and you Must try the chillies... Arrrrrgh, so good! 😅 😋
Returned another day for lunch for the Kottu; we missed it previously due to its limited quantities.
Hint: go for lunch, maybe at 1pm to get first (early?) dibs on it.
Tip: eat the Kottus hot when they come (really, forget the other stuff on the table) 🤔 (for a while), to be able to savour the differences in texture in the whole Kottu pieces, and the different tastes of those cut up and cooked with other ingredients. When it cools down, they seem to taste and feel the same.
Also had the biryani rice with chicken. Heavenly 👼🏻. Subtle but quite Distinct from the South East Asian versions (Singapore, Malaysia), spicy, yet easy on the palate. Highly, highly recommended! 3 tongues 😋😋😋.
Desserts were the coconut sap pancakes. 🤤 'nuff said (drooled?). I found this particular version has distinctly subtle shades in taste (coconut sap and pancake), and with the floral accents in the honey was a perfect round-off for the meal. Happy campers, we were. 🦦 😄
Just come. Eat ... (stops writing. thinking of Dewel, biryani, salivating to the memory of chicken noodles, smells coconut sap and honey ... 🤤 ...- Type de repas

We had a lovely lunch at New Ceylon Teaa during our recent visit to Lourdes. The 4 of us all enjoyed delicious kotthu, biryani and dessert. The owner/chef was so lovely and because there was a little wait for our food, she even gave us complimentary masala tea! Great home style Sri Lankan food, would highly recommend :)

Excellent food from Sri Lanka, cooked by the last owner, who was extremely friendly and generous and let us discover additional dishes. I strongly recommend that for the original taste, spicy or not, ït was excellent. We will surely come again.

The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish tasted like a home-cooked meal, full of warmth and authenticity. The portions were generous, and the presentation was beautiful without being overly fancy.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and made me feel like a valued guest. It’s rare to find a place that combines such high-quality food with genuine hospitality.
Highly recommended if you’re looking for a meal that feels like it was made with love. I’ll definitely be coming back!- Type de repas

We visited the New Ceylon Teaa restaurant today and ordered Rice and Curry and as well as Kottu. Both the dishes were authentic and super tasty 😋. We thoroughly enjoyed the very courteous and friendly service.

After days of traveling, on our European adventure, taking in the sights, hopping cities, and eating our way through countless restaurants, we arrived in Lourdes.
As much as we enjoyed the adventure, we were tired of reading menus and deciding what to eat. All we really wanted was some warm, comforting, home-cooked food.
And then, as if God sent, we discovered a small, home-style Sri Lankan restaurant, run by a lovely lady called Dianne, who’s been living in Lourdes for the past 38 years.
From the moment we stepped in, it felt like we were back in Srilanka.
The food? It's incredible. Honestly, it was better than what I had in a 5* hotel on my last trip to SL!
We ended up eating there every single day during our stay. Each meal was cooked with so much love and authenticity.
And beyond the food, her warmth and hospitality made it feel like we were dining at a relative’s home, not a restaurant.
Lourdes was already a meaningful part of our journey, but this unexpected discovery turned it into one of the most memorable stops of the whole trip. 🇫🇷🇱🇰 💟- Type de repas

The owner is amazing company if you come in off peak hours, she will alter any dish to your liking and if requested will make them just the way they are made back in Sri Lanka.
She even gave us a little "on the way" Snack on our last day. It really felt like family watching out for you.
